* GORDI – Metal- This is a band that was hot in the 80's and 90's. Think Judas Priest, etc. Let me say, this is an excellent cd that comes from vinyl, because the masters were lost during the war. The sound quality is NOT LOST!! This comes from an edition of Sebian Metal History Vol. 4. It comes on a cool picture disc.

SHATTERED HOPE

From Greece, comes my first true introduction to the death/doom style. Featuring Sakis (lead guitar), Thanos (rhythm guitar), Bill ( bass), George(drums), and Eygenia (keyboards) this talented band is steadily being recognized in a genre that is not widely appreciated. This is my interview with Thanos.

1. How long have you been together? Six years.

2. How did you get together? George, Pete George M., and myself have been friends for many years, we liked the doom /death sound a lot; and we decided to form a band.

3. How was the writing process for this release? We recorded the drums at Feedback studios in Athens. Then we recorded all the other instruments in our producer’s home.

4. What kind of response are you getting form: A. fans Quiet nice, they are interested and asking about our releases B. media The majority of the reviews are very encouraging.

5. What makes your music unique? I don’t know if our music is unique or not. I can tell you for sure that we have many influences from the doom/death genre. The mix of all of them is our music.

6. What’s the music scene like in your city? In Athens, and generally in Greece the majority of the bands is heavy metal or power metal bands. . Doom metal is not popular in Greece.

7. What are your goals for 08? Our goals are to perform as many live gigs as we can in Greece and abroad too for the promotion of ‘Promo 2007’. Also we are going to enter the studios to record our debut album which will be released in 2009.
